BREAKING: United Airlines Offers Free Flight Changes for Passengers Boycotting Trump Airport

United Airlines just delivered a humiliating blow to Trump’s airport vanity project.

The airline is preparing to allow passengers free flight changes if they’d rather not pass through President Donald J. Trump International Airport, according to an internal memo obtained by Live And Let’s Fly. Eligible passengers can switch to Fort Lauderdale or Miami without paying typical change fees, giving furious flyers an easy off-ramp.

The memo to reservation agents does not mince words.

“If a customer does not want to fly to the airport, use your empowerment to offer acceptable alternatives such as Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) or Miami International Airport (MIA),” it reads.

Agents are even given a suggested script for frustrated travelers, and are instructed to process the change as an even exchange. No fees. No hassle. No Trump.

Airlines Never Do This

Here is what makes the move so extraordinary: airlines do not let passengers change destinations for free just because they dislike an airport’s name. It simply does not happen.

United looked at this rebrand and decided it was controversial enough to make an exception. That decision, from one of the largest airlines in the world, says everything about how toxic Trump’s name has become.

The $5.5 million rebrand of Palm Beach International sparked an immediate revolt. The airport’s social media pages were flooded with negative comments, and travelers lined up to vow they would never set foot in the place again.

“Flying out of Fort Lauderdale next week! Thanks!” one wrote.

Another warned: “Watch the dip in passenger numbers.”

The People Spoke and a Major Airline Listened

Public records revealed wave after wave of complaints pouring into the airport’s contact form in just the first five days, with one recurring theme: boycott.

Trump has spent his second term plastering his name on federal buildings, monuments, passports, and commemorative coins, determined to immortalize himself at public expense. But ordinary Americans just proved the branding spree has a limit he cannot control.

They refused to play along. And a Fortune 100 airline listened to them instead of a president’s ego.

From Palm Beach to the departure boards, the message is unmistakable. You can put Trump’s name on an airport, but you cannot make America fly through it.
